Quilt with us

Would you like to learn to quilt by hand? We need your help! Our ladies would be happy to tutor you. Quilters meet every Thursday. For more information call Sandi or Biljana at 815-756-6321.

Quilts are donated to local charities so you would also be quilting for the community.

Quilt

We have chosen the quilt pattern, fabric, name and beneficiary for the 2011 quilt raffle.  This is our 15th year with this project.

There are two block patterns.  One is a star pattern and the other is a nine patch (for those quilters out there).  These block designs are on display in the Classics room.  The colors this year are black, white, gray and red.  We have chosen the name Classics Evening Star Quilt.  Safe Passages will receive the funds raised from the sale of the raffle tickets.

The volunteer quilting team members are Doris Hoard, Marvel Larson, Sadie Lunn, Louise Olson, Dorothy Smith, Sue Mullins, Ruthann Parrish, Rita Goodwin, Clara Coffey, Maxine Boekenhauer, Deanna Fidler and Dorothy Laing.  We have a good representation from the many communities - Genoa, Kingston, Malta, DeKalb and Esmond.  They are a great team and have a tremendous amount of talent.

You are most welcome to stop in to see the colors and pattern.  We anticipate that the quilt will be on the frame and ready for hand quilting by mid-March.

If anyone is interested in piecing a block for this project we have a few here in the Classics room.  Just let us know and we’ll get one (or two) out to you.
