Cubs vs. Pirates at Wrigley Field

Its root, root, root for the home team when the Cubbies take on the Pittsburgh Pirates during a 1:20 p.m game. We will depart in plenty of time for you to take in all the wonders of the historic ballpark. You can’t beat a great day at the friendly confines. Our seats are Terraced Reserved on the first base side of the field. This trip is sure to be a sell out. Cost of $65 per person includes tickets, snacks, transportation and gratuities.

Lend a Hand

Time on your hands? Come for dessert and get thearto know our guest presenters from the county, as wediscuss the many ways to lend a hand and get more out of life. Representatives from Pay- It- Forward House, Goodwill Industries and Voluntary Action Center will join us for a dessert bar, discussions and updates about their outreach opportunities. Learn how you can become an advocate for their programs and “Lend a Hand.” Let’s start by bringing an item for the local food pantries. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Chili Cook Off and Pie Tasting!

pie guyYou be the judge! Bring your appetites and your best pot of chili or homemade pie and enter them to win. The chili cook off will begin at noon, followed by a rescreening of One Room One People, the documentary on one room school houses, produced in 2004 by Resource Bank, as well as a presentation from NIU’s Blackwell Museum curator, Lucy Townsend.

Live at the Sands A Tribute to Sinatra & Basie at the Paramount Theatre, Aurora
Sunday, October 17th, 2010

The Michael Berkowitz Band and vocalist Tony Babino present an incredible musical re-creation of Sinatra’s first live album, performed in April 1966 with Count Basie. The show contains the actual musical arrangements of Nelson Riddle, Billy Byers, Quincy Jones and others. It’s a classy and exciting concert filled with Basie instrumentals and classic Sinatra tunes. After this 3:00 p.m. matinee performance, we travel to the Fireside Grille in Sugar Grove for our meal. Cost of the trip is $67 per person which includes transportation, driver tip, ticket and dinner.

Hot Potato Bar

It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play at Pheasant Run, St. Charles

We will enjoy Sunday Champagne Brunch and Matinee show inspired by the beloved American holiday classic. Take your seat to relive the beloved tale of regret and redemption, as actors bring the fateful story of George Bailey to life. The Sunday Matinee Brunch has magnificent displays of culinary delights at the center of attention. Accompanied by a soothing jazz ensemble, you’ll feast your eyes, then fill your plate with your choice from over 100 brunch specialties, and don’t forget the complimentary champagne! Classics Annual Holiday Party!
Saturday, December 11th, 2010

Mark your calendars for our final event of the year. We will begin with socializing and light hors de oeuvres at 11:30 a.m. Our holiday dinner, catered by Headon’s of Creston, will begin at noon. The cost is $13.00 per person. Tom Zucker, xecutive Director for Voluntary Action Center, will draw the winning raffle ticket for the Classics’ Northwoods Star Quilt. Our volunteer quilters have created another gorgeous piece of art. Tickets are available at Voluntary Action Center and each of our Resource Bank locations. The cost per ticket is $1.00 or 6 tickets for $5.00. Live entertainment will follow the raffle drawing.

Ring in the New Year!
December 31st - January 1st, 2011

We will travel to East Peoria on New Year’s Eve day and check New Years Evein to our hotel, located next to the Par-A-Dice Casino. There will be time for relaxation or a visit next door and then it’s off to the Spirit of Peoria Paddleboat for a Holiday Show and dinner. Afterwards, please join us in our hospitality suite to listen to music and ring in the New Year. You’ll enjoy a Continental Breakfast on Saturday morning before departure. The cost per person with double occupancy is $184, single occupancy is $242 and triple occupancy is $163. This includes transportation, hotel accommodations, dinner and entertainment, breakfast, tips and gratuities.

Advanced Notice - Plan Ahead

May 9 – 20, 2011 Exclusive to Resource Bank!
Grand European Vacation - 11 days.
Austria, Italy, Croatia, and Hungary all for $4765 per person double occupancy, add $495 for single occupancy. Attend a wine and cheese travel presentation on September 24 at 6:00 p.m. at our Bethany Road location, for more details on this exclusive European vacation. Biljana Jovanovic, Classics Advisor, will be traveling with you to her home country and surrounding areas during this 11 day travel extravaganza. Times have changed, so the departure date is tentative at this time, and we need your name to secure a commercial flight reservation. The date will be locked in when the flight is booked in November and after your first installment is secured. Travel insurance is included in the price, as are 20 meals, City tours in Vienna, Venice, Rovinj, Zagreb, Dubrovnik, and Budapest, 10 overnights in 4 Star Hotels, and English speaking tour guide. RSVP by September 21 for the travel presentation.

2nd installment is due December 1 $1130
Final payment is due April 1, 2011.
